elevate | A New Business Model?

Give expertise. Get expertise. Amongst peers. If you are a small business owner, whether in interior design or not, do you think of elevating other individuals in your industry?

Designers: Are you reaching out to other designers for a mutual win? It might not have seemed like a possibility a few years back, but there is a major shift in thinking happening and incredible opportunities are open for those willing to embrace doing business in a fresh new way!

Elevate. Collaborate. These two words run deep in the DNA of Decor Mentor. Right down to our business model built from the ground up for compassion projects for those with less. More on that another day….

We are very excited to be launching elevate –for design pros– at High Point Market —the international home decor wonderland in High Point, North Carolina, for retailers, designers and editors—on Saturday, April 21st!

The interactive elevate wall design will facilitate interior design pros helping their peers take their businesses to new heights!

This interactive wall will be accessible from April 21-26th at 220 Elm for all design pros to:

  • pin/post their business cards in business categories they want to give their expertise. Areas of their business they have mastered, in some way, and
  • also in categories they want to get expertise on. From peers who have mastered what they havent.

[ We like the idea of give one and get one! ]

There will be around 35,000 interior designers at High Point Market in a few weeks. What a wealth of expertise amongst peers!  We have created the giant interactive pin board wall for you to connect with each other and the rest is up to you! Exchange, elevate, inspire, encourage.

The kick off party will be at 220 Elm on Saturday, April 21st 4-5pmET with a not to be missed ice breaker to get the fun started! Many top designers from the Decor Mentor team will be there decked out in Tangerine Tango-the colour of the year as determined by Pantone! Come meet and get to know Jennifer Brouwer of Jennifer Brouwer Design from Toronto, Beth Dotolo and Carolina Gentry of Pulp Design Studios from Seattle and Dallas, Kati Curtis of Nirmada from New York, Lisa Kahn of Kahn Design Group from Naples, Elaine Williamson of Elaine Williamson Designs from Dallas and Michelle Jennings Wiebe of Studio M from Tampa. Oh, and I will be there too–Lisa Ferguson, founder of Decor Mentor and Lisa Ferguson Interior Design from Toronto. Love to meet you! Our interactive installation will also be a step and repeat wall of sorts with a professional photographer there to snap a photo of you meeting your new peers!

Interior design pros can also visit the interactive wall often, throughout market, to give and get business cards from their peers! For free.

We have an incredible desirable prize anyone would want , valued at over $15,000 , for those that get elevated at market. There will be a draw—for those that visit each day–Sat throughWed. Among those 5 daily finalists, our prize donor will award one lucky winner the desirable $15,000+ prize. More on what it is and how exactly it will work right here on April 16th. Lets just say if you are going to High Point Market, you will want to plan on visiting the wall every day for more than one reason!

We have much more that we are excited to spill soon

including news on elevate …..after market……

Not at market? Not a designer? How can you use the mindset of elevate in your world?! We want to know!

Do you have questions? Thoughts? Love to hear them in the comment section!

Thank you to Cheminne Taylor-Smith, VP or Marketing for High Point, for embracing Decor Mentor’s elevate, seeing the vision, getting the need, understanding the win for all sides, and for setting the bar tip top high for how every mutual win collaboration should look. Yes, we have a business crush on you, and Heinz at 220 Elm!
